I finally finished these baby blankets for my friend Heather's twins that she just adopted from Vietnam. The fabric is so cute, but my sewing job is pretty hideous. I've only hemmed pants once before, so I don't feel so bad about not being the best seamstress. I can't believe how long it took me!! My poor friend Emily who let me borrow her sewing machine not only had to deal with me calling her over every 5 minutes to fix a jammed machine, but she also helped me with my kids. I went over the 2nd time without my kids and she kindly (and patiently) showed me how to use her machine. I LOVED it! It was actually therapeutic (maybe it was just doing something without my kids). I'll have to look into getting one someday if I ever have room for it. THANK YOU EMILY!!

Those ARE really cute! Look at how domestic you are, and in the midst of moving? I'm impressed! The babies will love them I'm sure.
Nice work Darla. I've also been craving the sewing scene. I think it comes from looking at Soule mama's blog and etsy shops. I have a sewing machine, but it is in a giant tupperware in the garage. If we are both in WA at the same time, I will share mine with you and we can create wonderful crafts together. In the mean time, I'm sure Le Anne and Meagan will be your crafting buddies. I'm sorry you are leaving the East. I'm even more sorry that we never got out there to visit.
Today the baby blanky, tommorow the prom dress! Keep it up!

good job! way to be ambitious and do something you've never done before.
they look great. I was just searching for the perfect quilt pattern today on the internet for this baby. It will take me from now till the baby is born to finish it. especially since Brinley wants to help.
good work!
