Women at the Well

After about 3 months of planning, our ward finally put on the musical presentation, "Women at the Well". It turned out really nice. I was very grateful for the sisters in the ward who agreed to help with not much notice at all (lighting, slideshow, sound system, etc.). It was a lot of work, but something I would love to do again. "Women at the Well" is a little over (or under?) and hour long production written by Kenneth Cope, depicting Christ's life through the eyes of the women that knew him. I really am happy we were able to do it for the sisters in our ward. I almost want to do it again since it was so much work.

It's also so great to sing again! I'm just starting to feel confident enough to sing in front of people and maybe even smile a bit, move my arms, maybe even do a little jig while singing...or not. Never was one to sing and dance. Maybe someday?

-Turns out I WILL be having surgery on my knee. Still can't straighten it. Went into see a ortho surgeon yesterday (June had diarrhea 3 times while in the waiting room, btw. So gross!) and he believes I have either a torn or a flipped meniscus (or both?) so I'll have a minor outpatient surgery done on April 14th. Hallelujah. I was beginning to feel like I'd never have full use of this right leg again.

Firstly, AHHHH are the blossoms out and we're missing them?!? I hope there's still some when we come!
Secondly, your event looks amazing, the costumes, props, lighting, everything! Good job! Wish i could have listened. You'll have to tell me about it in a couple weeks. And just FYI I AM finally starting to feel a bit better during the day. Still yucky in the evenings but I shouldn't be completely lame while we're there and maybe I'll be 100%!

Wow, good luck with your surgery. My Mom and Sis-in-law have had that. Not fun, but livable. I hope you are back to full use soon. Great Job with the show. It looks wonderful.

Darla,
Let us know what we can do to help on the surgery. Wonderful pictures and so happy you are getting so involved with your Ward family. It's great to have this little blogspot to keep in touch. We are so pleased with you sweet daughter (and proud). Your musical must have been wonderful. Keep up the good work, but don't wear yourself out. Dad and Mom

I love the music from Women at the Well. I still remember going to see Aunt Nora and Meghan in it (Meghan sang "Daughter, arise" and it was unreal). What did you sing? If you have a video, you need to post it! You are so talented Darla; I don't know what this nonsense about you "not being one to sing and dance" is!
