A little girl can be sweeter (and badder) oftener than anyone else in the world. she can jitter around, and stomp, and make funny noises that frazzle your nerves yet just when you open your mouth she stands there demure with that special look in her eyes. A girl is Innocence playing in the mud, Beauty standing on its head, and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot.

This is the year she'll lose some teeth. That'll change everything! Turning six means Dayne will no longer be a little girl. Of course, we all know she really WILL be, but it'll be a fight convincing her. She's already pretty sure she's too old for baby dolls and certain articles of clothing I try to have her wear..
Why is SIX so old?! Five is such a perfect little age where they're learning to read, they're starting their first year in school, they're just beginning to see the world differently and kinda, sorta to feel like big girls..., but six? That's something new completely. I don't want it. I don't accept it. I'm going to try and keep her young. Although she is my child who most acknowledges the pop culture with all that it entails, I do hope that I can compete with the world and keep her innocent and naive, happy..., and most importantly..confident! Girls are lacking that these days..

ahh she looks just like you, lucky girl! And yes it seems 6 (not that I'm there yet with either of my kids) But I hear 6 is when it all changes....I don't want to go there with any of them especially a girl! I wish for all of us moms to meet your goal of keeping them nieve and confident and pure in this crazy world in which we live. God help us all! You are a great mommy and I think we just might stand a chance????? Happy Birthday "little" Dayners! or is just Dayne now? lol is she too big for that?
My word, our families are growing up right before our very eyes! Happy Birthday "May Dayne" (like my combo of May Day and Dayne?!)
That is so hard to believe! SIX? I sure hope you can slow her down ;) Love the pics. Dayne cracks me up for sure.
Just so sweet! Why do they have to grow up?!!! Hold on tight for the ride; it goes way too fast....
